The Ugandan Annual PSST Public Lecture Day, 9th December The Ugandan Annual PSST Public Lecture Day is an initiative of Efficacy Methodology. This Public Lecture comes against the backdrop of several economic disruptions and the disconnect between the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development with the local people. It is premised on the recognition of the important role of a Permanent Secretary to the Treasury in the economic development of a country. The day is principally for every sitting Permanent Secretary to The Treasury (PSST) to present a keynote address to the general public, and key stakeholders on how he/she is approaching the economy amidst several challenges. The overarching objective of the Annual PSST Public Lecture Day is to bring the Ministry of Finance and Government closer to the people, and to enable key stakeholders to understand the direction the country is taking. The session also hosts a panel of economic experts, the public and former PSSTs to weigh in on the direction being taken. The Annual PSST Public Lecture Day will be observed Annually on the 9th December. The Public Lecture has an extension to EM Annual Stakeholders Dinner. The dinner houses two aspects; a special interactive session with the PSST and an annual celebration of EM's existence. Attendance to the dinner is by a special invitation or reservation only. This is because of a special fundraising session for the purpose of improving the operation of the Think Tank. This year’s fundraising is targeted towards establishing the PSST Public Library at Efficacy Methodology. The Public Lecture will attract representatives from the Embassies, Government, Development Partners, Political Parties, Religious Institutions, Private Sector, Universities, Think Tanks, Members of Parliament, Former PSSTs, the Bank of Uganda and the General Public.
