Natural Resource Governance

Africa is the most endowered continent, with deposits of several natural resources, ranging from renewable to non-renewable resources.  In the past, most governments wasted these resources either directly or indirectly by paying less attention or adopting weak policies that support their governance. For instance, countries such as South Sudan, Libya, Botswana, and Nigeria have suffered from oil mismanagement, leading to an oil curse.

Our focus is on helping Uganda and other African countries obtain the best value from their natural resources in a more efficient and sustainable manner. Thus, our purpose is to help governments innovatively avoid past mistakes and progressively work towards policies that nurture natural resources for the benefit of the people sustainably. Through our research and our team of experts, we advise governments and stakeholders from across the continent on this particular subject by undertaking rigorous research.
